England’s top-flight will not be able to cope with the arrival of a number of players from abroad who want to play in the Premier League this season, according to Peter Nygaard.
The 26-year-old has made it clear that he does not want to miss out on a chance to play for his country at this summer’s World Cup, with the likes of Manchester United’s Luke Shaw, Manchester City’s Jesus Navas and Real Madrid’s Radamel Falcao all expected to feature in the squad.
“England is not a country that likes to go out and play and not enjoy it,” Nygard told BBC Sport.
“So I will not miss out, I want to be here for England and that’s the best place to be.”
It’s a big tournament and I want England to win it.
“They have got a very good squad, they’ve got a good manager and they’ve made some big signings.”
If you don’t get into the World Cup squad, you’re not going to win.
“Nygard, who played for the first team in the 2010 World Cup and has also been linked with moves to Chelsea and Manchester United, believes England could face a crisis of confidence once the players leave the country.”
I think England are in the position where they’re going to be playing against a lot of people who want them to be in the World Series,” Nygaard added.”
There’s a lot more money involved, a lot less support in England than it was.
“We’ve been lucky in the past.
We’ve had the same problems in the last 20 years and I think they’re probably going to have the same issues this time.”
Nyxgard is currently in the second year of a two-year contract at the Hawthorns and will be eligible to play when the team return from their two-week break in early July.
The England international says he has no regrets about the move and insists the squad is not going anywhere this summer.
“The players want to stay,” Nywald said.
“You can’t let them leave, they’re all good people, they want to stick around.”
“They’re not just going to go on holiday or they’re not coming to training, they can’t go anywhere.”
Every player has his own place.
I’m a bit of a prissy one, I’ve never liked to be told what to do, but I’ve always been one to try and find a way to do what I like and be happy with.
